Trick Your Body Into Faster Fat Loss

1. Trick Your Body Into Thinking It is Starving - This sounds a little outrageous but it is essential to faster fat loss. By cutting your carbs you will signal your body to start producing starvation hormones. These hormones are responsible freeing stored body fat and shuttling it to your liver and muscles so that it can be used as energy. You dont need to starve yourself (thats a bad idea). Just trick your body by reducing your carbohydrate intake to 50-100g per day to trick your system and crank up your fat loss.

2. Trick Your Mind and Stomach Into Thinking That You Are Eating More - One major problem with dieting is hunger. The inability to deal with hunger while dieting is one of the biggest reasons why many people fail on their diets and cant lose weight. This is an easy fix - just trick your body into thinking that it is eating more food than it really is. How can you do this? Eat more green leafy (spinach, kale, lettuce) and/or fibrous vegetables (broccoli, asparagus, brussels sprouts, etc). These kinds of vegetables have a lot of bulk to them but not a lot of calories. This means you can eat a lot more food without consuming extra calories. You actually trick your body in two different ways. The first is visually. There is a big difference from a psychological perspective when you sit down to eat a plate overflowing with food vs. a plate that just has a few pieces scattered on it. The second trick occurs in your stomach. Your stomach has stretch receptors that signal the brain, letting it know your stomach is full and that you should stop eating. These receptors dont sense calories, they sense volume. Eating lots of green leafy and fibrous vegetables will activate these stretch receptors and youll feel full even on less calories.

3. Trick Your Body Into Thinking That It is Time to Build Muscle - Successful long term weight loss hinges on your ability to maintain and stimulate your metabolism. The major driving force behind your metabolism is your muscle. Muscle is a metabolic powerhouse that burns massive amounts of calories allowing you to peel off the pounds. The people that lose muscle when dieting are doomed to not only slow weight loss but also being stuck with the skinny fat look once they are done dieting. Increasing your protein intake while dieting will help prevent muscle loss because certain amino acids found in the protein you eat work on the DNA level to stimulate protein synthesis (i.e. muscle building). Your body is smart (well not too smart as this article is dedicated to tricking it) and doesnt like to waste resources so if it is building muscle then it wont at the same time start breaking it down. This little trick will spare your hard earned muscle from destruction when you are dieting and allow you to keep your metabolism cranking.

There you go. Pretty simple...Eat more protein, less carbs, and more green vegetables to trick your body into losing weight fast. Put these tricks into action and youll be losing weight 2x faster than all your friends.

Living with Your Allergy

What is Allergy?

An abnormal response to certain substances, which may cause asthma, hay fever, and other allergic disease. The body may react to the presence of certain materials (allergens), such as animal and plant products, by producing substances called antibodies. When the same material enters the body a second time, a reaction ensues between this substances and the antibodies.

When the reaction occurs in the skin, the escape of fluid and the contraction of the smooth muscles around the hair follicles produce the swellings seen in hives. When it occurs in the nose, collections of fluid in the mucous membranes cause the familiar symptoms of hay fever. An allergic reaction in the air passages (the bronchioles) produces asthma, and such a reaction in the intestines results in cramps and diarrhea.

4 Ways in which Allergens Enter The Human Body

Airborne Allergens

Such substances include the wind-carried pollens of ragweeds, grasses, and trees. Also the seeds of molds that grow on grains, insect dust, the dandruff of dogs or horses, and house dust. These irritants may affect the nose, causing sneezing, discharges, and blocking of the nasal passages. If the allergy is caused by seasonal allergens, such as pollen, molds, and insect dust, its called hay fever.

If the irritant is present throughout the year, the allergy is termed perennial allergic rhinitis. Allergic asthma is a more serious ailment. It develops when the air passages are sensitive to the airborne allergens. The allergic reaction causes a spasm of the muscles of the bronchioles and stimulates the production of thick mucus. The consequent narrowing and blocking of the air passages make breathing difficult. Although most cases asthma are allergic in nature, some may be caused by infection or heart disease. In many instances the cause is unknown.

Skin Contact with Allergens

An allergic skin inflammation (contact dermatitis) can be caused by contact with a number of substances. These include plants (poison ivy, poison oak, primrose, ragweed), dyes (used on fur and clothing), metals (mercury in antiseptics, and nickel-containing jewelry), nail polish, penicillin, sulfa drugs, and plastics.

Foods and Drugs

Almost any type of allergy can be produced by food. These type include asthma, skin conditions (hives and eczema), gastrointestinal complaints involving cramps, stomach gas, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Drugs are also frequent source of allergy. Some types of anemia (deficiency of red blood cells), leukopenia (deficiency of white blood cells), or thrombocytopenia (deficiency of blood platelets) may caused by drug allergy. Injected drugs are more likely to produce an allergy than those taken by mouth. Serum sickness is an allergic that occasionally follows the injection of penicillin or serum prepared from animals. The reaction usually develops several days after the injection. It consists of hives, giant swellings, inflammation of the joints, and fever.

Insect Stings

Allergic reactions from the stings of bees, wasps, and hornets are common. The oldest recorded case of this type is found in the hieroglypic account on the tomb of King Menes of Egypt, which tells of his death from the sting of a hornet in 2641 BC.

Not Balanced Diet, On Your Weight Loss Jumps

IF you are one of the women who had followed a weight loss diet program? Apparently, many cases show, the lady who runs the diet actually gain weight.

Post-diet weight gain occurs in nearly one third of women. This can occur due to errors in diet. Women who diet and unbalanced diet can make the body more than the previous 10 percent fat. The survey in the UK found that one in three women start dieting in the age range 15 to 20 years, as reported by FoxNews.

The most common mistake is that the scheme is too strict diet. This can affect your bodys metabolism. Improper diets can cause an imbalance in the body. Suppose you cut too much fat in the daily diet. This can lead to a surplus of carbohydrates that can not be burned by the body to make fat cells of your body is experiencing shock. Stacking carbs would be stored as fat in your body that cause failure diet.

Portions and balance diet is the key factor that must be considered. Too many foods that you think is healthy, but not balanced will also be bad for your health.

3 things to include in your fitness to Slow Down the Aging Process

You cant stop yourself from growing old,
but you can keep your body in great shape as you get older!

Studies have now proven that the natural aging process can be slowed and even reversed under the right conditions.

People between the ages of 30 and 70 with many of the symptoms; conditions that were traditionally associated with normal aging are in fact the result of sedentary lifestyles.

Our life expectancy in this day and age is much longer.  50 is the new 30, and while you may be eligible for some senior citizen discounts, you dont have to think of this stage of your life as the beginning of the end.

Researchers at Harvard Medical School have finally proven that when you are over the age of 50 you can continue to exercise with great benefits to your health.  In fact, many of the effects of aging can be slowed down through a good exercise program and balanced diet taken in combination.

1.  Cardiovascular exercises:  take a brisk walk in the park, go swimming, dancing, jogging, recumbent bicycles  and even a few jumping jacks.  Try a fun dance class, Zumba is so popular and burns lots of calories.

2.  Strength exercises:   are an effective way to build muscle mass and maintain your body’s weight. Did you know that there are roughly 300,000 cases of broken hip bones due to elderly people losing their balance and falling over?

Doing a few balance exercises can help to strengthen those muscles responsible for supporting you body and keeping you mobile.  It’s important that you work with a professional that can help you to put together a strength training program designed for you.

3.       Stretching and flexibility exercises are needed to keep your joints working smoothly and stop them from ceasing up. These particular exercises help to increase the amount of movements that your body can perform. Warming up the muscles and joints should be done before any workout to prevent injury and decrease the amount of pain you feel in your muscles.

It’s important along with exercise to have a Healthy Diet.  What you are putting into your body has a great effect on your health.   Many people believe that they don’t need to eat healthy or watch their diet because they don’t need to lose weight. This couldn’t be further from the truth!
You should put only the best foods in your mouth no matter how much you weigh, what size you wear, or how fit you look.

Gaining muscle fast cannot be achieved if you continue to lift the same weights each workout.

91-year-old bodybuilder Charles Eugster is proof we can continue to be healthy and strong into our 90’s and it doesn’t end there.

At 85 Charles had a crisis. He looked at himself in the mirror, and saw an old man who was overweight, his posture was terrible and there was skin hanging off of him.  Charles said “I looked like a wreck’ Read Charles inspirational story here:

If you are starting an exercise program, I recommend you consult your doctor first to make sure you are of sound body. This is especially true for seniors who may have weaker bodies. When exercising, start out slow and gradually build up to a long and more intense workout as you gain strength. If you have pre-existing medical conditions, you should definitely make your personal physician aware of you decision to start working out.

Are you interested in simple blood test to predict your menopause age

If you do, wait and see. Researchers have developed a blood test they say can predict how long of a reproductive life a woman has before menopause.

The blood test measures levels of a hormone called anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH), which is produced by the cells in women’s ovaries and is a marker for ovarian function. The test could tell women as young as 20 when they would enter menopause. Sixty-three women reached menopause during the course of the study, and the test was able in most cases to predict the age within about four months of the woman’s actual age; the maximum margin of error was between three and four years.

The AMH is a hormone produced by the granulosa cells of the early developing antral follicles. These are the immature eggs that wake up from their dormant state and develop into mature eggs. As a woman runs out of eggs, the number of these small antral follicles decline in number and as a result the serum Anti-Mullerian hormone falls. This is why serum Anti-Mullerian hormone testing is a good estimate of residual egg number.

Study author Fahimeh Ramezani Tehrani, president of the Reproductive Endocrinology Department of the Endocrine Research Centre and a faculty member and associate professor of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, reported her findings at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology in Rome.

The findings could have implications on how women approach family planning. Researchers said it is one of the first population-based studies to provide a statistical model for predicting age at menopause.

Much of the hubbub surrounds the tests implications: If a woman knew when her childbearing years would end, she could take better charge of her reproductive destiny. Perhaps she would get pregnant earlier—or freeze her eggs in her late 20s—if she knew menopause was going to strike at, say, 41 instead of the average age of 51. Or she might stay off the mommy track a bit longer if her fertility was going to last until 57.

“We developed a statistical model for estimating the age at menopause from a single measurement of AMH concentration in serum from blood samples,” Ramezani Tehrani says. “Using this model, we estimated mean average ages at menopause for women at different time points in their reproductive life span from varying levels of serum AMH concentration. We were able to show that there was a good level of agreement between ages at menopause estimated by our model and the actual age at menopause for a subgroup of 63 women who reached menopause during the study.”

Predicting Menopause with a Blood Test

The study results are based on blood samples from 266 women aged 20 to 49 who were part of the larger Tehran Lipid and Glucose Study, which began in 1998 and continues today. Blood samples were repeatedly collected from the study participants every three years, and the researchers also collected data about the women’s socioeconomic backgrounds and reproductive histories. The average age of beginning menopause was about 52.

Ramezani Tehrani and her team found that:
  • AMH levels of 4.1 ng/mL or less predicted early menopause (before age 45) in 20-year-olds
  • AMH levels of 3.3 ng/mL predicted early menopause in 25-year-olds
  • AMH levels of 2.4 ng/mL predicted early menopause in 30-year-olds

Women who had AMH levels of at least 4.5 ng/mL at age 20, 3.8 ngl/mL at age 25, and 2.9 ng/mL at age 30 could expect menopause to begin after they turned 50.

“The results from our study could enable us to make a more realistic assessment of womens reproductive status many years before they reach menopause,” says Ramezani Tehrani. “For example, if a 20-year-old woman has a concentration of serum AMH of 2.8 ng/mL, we estimate that she will become menopausal between 35-38 years old.”

Ramezani Tehrani says more studies are needed to validate these findings, but the blood test could be an important diagnostic tool to evaluate one’s reproductive life and could provide a more accurate response than chronological age.

William Ledger, a fertility expert at the University of Sheffield in England, who was not involved with the research, told the Associated Press: “This is not something we could start rolling out tomorrow. But if it really does work, it could be immensely useful to young women who are making choices about whether to work or have a family.”

Some experts, however, say the menopause test is still far away from being used in clinical practice. Thats partly because of some uncertainty in determining standard levels of this hormone and whether these levels vary from woman to woman. For example, no one knows yet whether levels of AMH differ among racial and ethnic populations. Perhaps a low level in an Iranian woman is in the normal range for an African-American. Previous studies have also shown that obese women tend to have lower levels than women of normal weight, though they may not go into menopause any earlier.

Still, the AMH test has so far proven useful in clinical practice for predicting the success of certain infertility procedures, like in vitro fertilization. (A higher level means more eggs are likely to be retrieved from the ovary, though it doesnt seem to predict the quality of the eggs.) Ovarian cancer patients may also undergo the test to determine whether chemotherapy has affected their fertility.

But whether this hormone test will eventually be widely used to pinpoint the age of menopause remains a big unknown. If it does prove predictive, many women will no doubt be eager to learn just how long their biological clocks will keep on ticking.

Check your healths learn about cholesterol

Check your healths
Check your healths, learn about cholesterol

You will know that just how healthy you are when you check your cholesterol on a regularly basis. You will also find that your doctor will break down that report so that you have several numbers and a real understanding of just how healthy you are. With all the medical advances, that you will come across you’ll be able to know exactly what part of your cholesterol is out of control and how your overall progress is doing.

You will be getting the numbers with an explanation, but it still can be very confusing. It is very difficult to explain what you are told to someone else. You will want to get a cholesterol testing kit so that you can test yourself in the comfort of your own home. You may find that it is difficult to understand the kit, but if you learn how to do the math, then you will be able to understand your results and the numbers.

You will first be given a number for your bad cholesterol that is often referred to as low density lipids cholesterol. This is commonly referred to as “bad cholesterol” and you can remember this by using the L to stand for Lower—you want to be sure to lower this type of cholesterol. The bad cholesterol will end up making about 65-75% of your total cholesterol, however, you should make sure that your total number is at least lower than 130. Because LDL cholesterol is the type that causes heart attacks, if you have other risk factors such as obesity or a family history of heart disease, you want to keep this number even lower, less than 100 if possible. Your diet is very important in many ways, but it will lower your bad cholesterol levels.

You will then realize that your second number is your good cholesterol or HDL. This is a high density lipid cholesterol. You can always remember that your HDL is healthy by remembering the link to the “h”. You will want this to be of at least 35 or higher for men, but 40 or higher for women. Women have an easier time raising HDL levels than men do, but this can be done through exercise and not smoking.

As for your last number, you will fid that it is your total cholesterol level that will add both your good and bad together. You will find that if you keep your LDL and HDL levels normal, then you will be able to have a good total cholesterol level. However, you should consult your doctor if you have any questions about your cholesterols and the numbers. They will be able to place you on medication so that you can have a healthy life with the cholesterol under control.
